The Evo SMD Elite Solar Security Light offers mains equivalent brightness from a highly compact unit that offers truly exceptional waterproofing and can deliver 500 activations lasting 30 seconds each from a full charge. The activation time can be set so that the Evo SMD lights up from between 15 seconds and 3 minutes each time it detects motion. At 1400 lumens the Evo SMD Elite offers 4 times the brightness of our highly successful Evo SMD Solar Security Light (350 lumens).
The Evo SMD Elite uses a high-performance rubber compression seal and numerous waterproof O-rings on the light body and motion sensor which guarantee superior waterproofing to IP56 standard.
During the day the Evo SMD Elite's solar panel charges its internal battery giving it the power it needs to light after dark. After dark the Evo SMD Elite will activate as soon as it detects motion. At dawn the Evo SMD Elite stops activating and starts charging again ready for the night ahead.
The Evo SMD Elite comes with a 1-year guarantee.

Answer:
If the panel is getting as much direct sunlight then yes it will be ok to be hung in this way. However if it causes it to be more hidden from light, then please do not.

What is the distance at which the Evo SMD elite light detects motion?
In your FAQ most replies state 8 metres. However in the reply to Pat Coulson 2/3/17 it says 15 metres
