I am really happy so far with this kit.
I am using it to light my office at the bottom of the garden and so far so good. my office is 3m x 2.5m and the 4 bulbs provide easy enough light to read/ work by and the panel and controller seem to keep the battery well topped up.
there weren't any instructions in the kit though, so i downloaded them from the sight (hence only 4 stars).
Very happy so far.
The kit has been installed for about a month so far.

The Geo 3
The Geo 3 - Mains Free Solar Lighting & Power KitIdeal for lighting internal space up to 48 square metres will light sheds up to 26'x20' (8m x 6m) the biggest problem i had upon installing this was the length of wiring was far to short my shed is 10 foot by 8 foot and i had to buy additional wiring to complete the installation the claim of lighting up the claimed 26 by 20 is farfetched also there wasn't enough wire clips.

Review the Geo 3 - Mains Free Solar Lighting Kit
Unlike large solar panel systems that can take many years to pay for themselves, our Geo Mains Free Solar Lighting Kits
deliver instant savings. Installing a lighting supply to remote locations isn't always possible and is often highly expensive when it is.
Our Geo kits can be installed by anyone with basic DIY skills and are exempt from Part P of the building regulations which means there is no need to pay an electrician to have your kit installed and certified.

How it works
The solar panel within this kit will generate electicity from the sun, into a connected 12v battery. This battery then stores the power ready for use when required. Connected to the battery via a simple circuit are the 12v light bulbs, with a switch situated between them and the battery. Once the switch is turned on the circuit is complete and charge from the battery will power your 12v lightbulbs.
Frequently Asked Questions
hi, I would like to know besides using this for lighting. Could it be used to plug a tumble-dryer to the kit?
By Joed on Dec 14, 2014
Adding other items to this kit would drain the battery very quickly as it has been designed to run just lights. You can do it but it may not be very efficient or last long enough.
Hi, I have one of the Geo kits, got it about 2 years ago. It has 4 bulbs and works excellently. I want to be able to put my motorcycle on a battery trickle charger unit to keep it topped up Over winter. What. Can I plug it into and can it be incorporated into this system? I'd like some advice please so I can keep my bike charged using solar and ideally the trickle charger I have.
By Mark Lancaster on Dec 10, 2014
We would need to know the power consumption or energy used by the trickle charger to calculate feasibility but would generally just suggest buying a solar trickle charger rather than try to add something to the kit that is working well and risk stopping it from working well.
Is this kit suitable for mounting onto a shed roof please?
By Paul on Jan 23, 2014
Yes, the Geo Kits all come with roof mounting blocks for easy mounting to a shed or garage roof for example.
