{"id":4426,"date":"2019-06-10T10:58:02","date_gmt":"2019-06-10T09:58:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thesolarcentre.co.uk\/blog\/?p=4426"},"modified":"2023-01-24T11:47:03","modified_gmt":"2023-01-24T11:47:03","slug":"photos-after-climate-change","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thesolarcentre.co.uk\/blog\/2019\/06\/10\/photos-after-climate-change\/","title":{"rendered":"Devasting photos show the effects of climate change in the years to come"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"twentytwenty-post-wrapper\">\n    <div class=\"twentytwenty-post-row\">\n      <p>Climate change is a constant topic of conversation and as one of the UK\u2019s leading eco brands, we wanted to show\n        the impact climate change could have on popular tourists landmarks in years to come.<\/p>\n\n      <p>Many people are choosing to go on holiday at this time of year and we picked out some of the tourist\n        destinations both in the UK and abroad that are most at risk of climate change. <\/p>\n\n      <p>Using Photoshop we can show what each place will look like in years to come and these changes are based on real\n        research and studies of climate change \u2013 so what is shown in each picture is extremely likely to happen! <\/p>\n    <\/div>\n    <div class=\"twentytwenty-post-row\">\n      <h2>Lake District<\/h2>\n\n      <p>The Lake District \u2013 a popular holiday destination in the North West England famous for the mountain views and\n        lakes. Research has shown that the Lake District is at threat from climate change with many changes likely to\n        occur.<\/p>\n\n      <p>Species are likely to decline including the mountain butterfly, with this there will be an increase in\n        pygmyweeds and Japanese knotweeds \u2013 not the type of plants you want in your back garden.<\/p>\n\n      <p>Heavy rainfall will cause erosion to the ground, footbridges and footpaths. But climate change could threaten this 160-year-old clock. <\/p>\n\n      <p>Research has suggested climate change will cause flooding from the North Sea and river flooding from The\n        Thames. A home to\n        snorkelers, divers but most importantly \u2013 fish and other marine life. Climate change is already having a huge\n        impact on the Great Barrier Reef with reports suggesting as much of half the great barrier reef is dead.<\/p>\n\n      <p>Rising sea temperatures are the main reason behind this, causing coral bleaching and ultimately killing the\n        coral. The city is at constant threat\n        from flooding due to it\u2019s low lying foundations.
