How do they work?
The Solar Centre Solar Fairy Lights are attached to a control box that contains a sealed battery pack. This control box is connected to a solar panel which charges the batteries during daylight. At dusk the light sensor in the solar panel turns the lights on automatically and off automatically after 8 hours.
Intelligent Power Saving Technology (patent pending) is a revolutionary concept in solar technology. It measures the amount of light received by the panel over a 24hr period. Should it fall below a preset threshold the lights will operate at night with a slightly reduced voltage, prolonging the runtime of the lights over the winter period.
How do I set them up?
The Solar Centres Solar Fairy Lights are incredibly quick and easy to install!
Simply press the button to turn them on then remove them from the box, unravel the lights and place them in your desired location, place the solar panel in sunlight. The lights will automatically turn off after the panel has been exposed to light for 90 seconds. There are 2 metres of cable between the lights and the solar panel so you can place the lights in a shaded area so long as the solar panel can reach an area that receives unobstructed daylight.
The solar panel comes with a clip, spike and deck / fence / post mounting options. The spike is ideal if you plan to mount the panel in the ground whereas the clip is more useful if you are thinking placing the lights higher up or altenatively use the deck mount for decking, fence and wall mounting options.
What are the advantages of solar fairy lights?
We believe that our Solar Centre Solar Fairy Lights are better than mains powered LED lights for the following reasons:
- Quick and simple to install
- Individual vacumm sealed LEDs for weather proofing
- We use thick quality cable between the LEDs
- Self sufficient so you can put them anywhere there is light
- Safer than mains powered fairy lights
- No operating costs unlike mains powered lights
- Turn on and off automatically using an advanced light sensor
- They are environmentally friendly unlike mains powered fairy lights
The Solar Centre Solar Fairy Lights have 6 different lighting modes:
1. Alternating
2. Chasing
3. Fast Flash
4. Slow Flash
5. Fast Flicker
6. All Lights On
Can I use them inside?
We don't advise this as a rule, but you can use your Solar Fairy Lights indoors so long as the solar panel is located outside and is south facing.
Solar doesn’t work particularly well through glass (especially double and triple glazing which can reduce efficiency by up to 90%) so it is essential your panel is located outside.
One way to do this is to slot the solar panel through a window for example. Your Solar Fairy Lights will come on when it is dark outside and turn off again after 8 hours. You can overide this setting via the control box.
