the colour is a very dark grey/black.
What lumens are they? warm white , natural white or cool white? I would need them 4000k thanks!

Hello. To change between the different lighting modes, this requires a short press only Mode 1: Light is at 25% brightness (250lm) until dawn Mode 2: Light is at 10% brightness (100lm) + motion sensor for 30 seconds when activated Mode 3: Light remains on until motion sensor is activated for 30 seconds until motion has stopped [best for winter] Mode 4: Light is at full brightness (1000lm) until dawn.
Will this solar light work well enough on a north facing elevation, i.e. in a location that does not get any direct sunlight in the winter?

Our lights work best in south-facing positions, having it in an alternative direction will make it much harder for the light to receive a full charge.
Could this light run in mode 3 if placed in an alleyway running up to the entrance of a house? How much direct sunlight is required for this to be effective please?

I would not place this anywhere that the panel will be partially shaded, the reason for this is in the winter months when you have very little sun, it will just not recieve the charge to run that mode during the winter period.
Is the motion sensor on this light able to be disabled or is there this exact light available without the motion sensor please?

Please see below the lighting modes. The Mode you can can use Mode 1 or 4. But I would look at the location of the where the light will be based to make sure that decision, if it is a shaded location then your light might not recieve adequate charge for it to run that mode during the winter period. Mode 3:Light is off but will illuminate when motion is detected, turning off again 30 seconds after motion has stopped [best for winter]. Mode 4:Light is at full brightness (1000lm) until dawn.
Can you disable the motion sensor so it just comes on when it's dark?

How far away does the motion sensor work? I would like a motion sensor that only works when someone comes to the door, do you have any that are adjustable or only work in a short range?

The detection range is 120 degree and up to 5 metres. We have our EVO SMD range where you can adjust the range. Evo Smd Elite Evo Smd Pro Evo SMD
