Frequently asked questions
After the batteries have been fully charged and the lights have operated does it take 3-5 days for the lights to be fully charged again? Can the operating time for the lights be adjusted?
Asked by Tony on 21 Oct 2019
Once the lights are fully charged they will run off that power and just recharge each day, depending on the weather and time of year depends on how long it will take for them to gain a full charge. You can leave the lights off for 3 days to ensure the build up base charge. The operating time cannot be changed on the Bristols.
Will these charge up fully on a winter's day and how long will they stay on for after it gets dark? Thanks.
Asked by Michael Taylor on 26 Nov 2018
A full charge in the darkest part of winter is likely to take 3-5days. The light will charge just not be on for up to 10hrs unless fully charged
What are the anchor spikes made from? I have had some before which have rotted in the soil.
Asked by P Bowskill on 1 Nov 2018
The spikes are plastic so will not rot.
Even though you don't offer an extension cable between panel and lights, is it possible to wire in an extension myself, and assuming it is, would an extra 4 metres of run to the lights be acceptable?
Asked by Billy Buckenham on 21 Sep 2018
Yes, you could extend yourself but it would void the warranty. The longer the wire from the panel to light/battery the more resistance and lower charge making it to the battery, but if the panel is in a far better location then this will outweigh the resistance.

Is it possible to extend the distance between solar panel and lights? Is there an extension cable as such?
