No, the light will light up around the white plastic part, so enough to see who is at the door.
Could you please tell me the width of the fixing panel please?

In the picture, it looks as if this has been fitted at waist height. Will it work if fitted at head height or above? I want to put it on the corner of a pergola to light a pathway.

How do you set this light to only come on when motion is detected I've tried and the light just stays on permanently Thanks

After Dusk press and hold the power button on the underside of the light to activate it. Each additional press of the power button will cycle through each of the modes. There are 3 different lighting modes: 1. Dim mode: after dusk the light illuminates in low brightness and switches to high brightness when motion is detected. After motion ceases it returns to low brightness. 2. Always on: after dusk the light activates and remains on until dawn or the battery charge is depleted, whichever comes sooner. 3. Sensor mode: after dusk the light will activate only when motion is detected. At all other times the light will be off. We strongly recommend this mode for the late autumn and winter months to ensure the light is only used when required. Lights installed in poor locations may need to be used in this mode as well.
Can you please confirm the overall height, and the dimensions for the back plate which attaches to the wall.

It detects motion up to 8 metres away.
Can the length of time the light comes on for be adjusted /lengthened? If not, do you have any pir lights that can? Thanks

The time cannot be adjusted. This can only be done on our EVO smd range.
What is the range before the sensor works? And is the sensor 365 degrees? Thank you.

The PIR sensor detects motion 8m away and 120 degrees.

Does this lamp emit an ambient light or does it only light up when motion is detected?

This is a motion-activated only light. The brightness and size of the panel would not allow an ambient light.

It looks like the lamp angle can be adjusted, what range of angle is possible between the base and the lights, I want to mount on top of a gate post with sensor pointing into the gateway

this only moves upand down, it cannot be twisted to face another way.
Do you know the throw pattern of this light and it it's actually even bright. I'm basically trying to light a carpark that's got no lighting. Also what kind of screws does it use are they theft proof

Without knowing what area you are trying to light up it is difficult question to answer. The light only comes out of the Band around the middle of the light, so will not shine down. I would look at our EVO SMD series of lights, this might be a better fit.
Is the solar panel on the top of the light with no wire trailing? It looks like it. Thanks

That is correct, the Corona panel is on top of the product.
