It can take up to 5 days depending on levels of exposure to UV light.

What does the power saving mode does?

The powersaving mode will dim the light a fraction so that it will be able to work in winter for longer, it doubles the run time! A very useful mode I am sure you will agree!

I'm struggling to recharge the lights . Had to take off the wall to redecorate .had them inside . When I returned to wall not working . So I'm taking the bulbs out . Returning to the wall . Plan to leave on south facing wall for 5 day . But struggling to work out if switch is on off or reduced power is there an easy way to tell and does it matter while I attempt to recharge ?//

Hi Steve, The best thing to do is switch the light of for 3 to5 days let the battery gather a charge. The bulb can stay in place and on the 5th day switch the light on it should gather a booster charge and work nicely

It only comes with fixings to attach this to the wall and cannot be attached atop a gate post. Maybe have a look at our post lights

the Dorchester light stays on the whole time after dusk, until dawn when it would detect it is light enough for it to switch off.

The batteries are rechargeable, we would just recommend charging them in the unit to prevent any compromise to the waterproofing. So leave them off for 5 days to allow a good full charge.
