These ones take the 18650 2000mah batteries they are sold singly.
The picture looks like you can fit 2 additional 18650 batteries, please confirm?

yes that is corrrect, you can add two more 18650 2000mah to boost running times.

The solar panel can be installed using a ground spike or a wall bracket. When deciding on the location for your solar panel installation, please consider optimal sun exposure, try to avoid shadows by day, and other sources of light at night that could trick the lights into thinking it’s still daylight. Do you need to replace lithium battery 18650? Lights have stopped working after a couple of years..

Hi Juliette, Sorry to hear about that. Unfortunately, you are not able to replace batteries with the Edinburghs 10 or 20 but you can replace the panel that would have a new battery inside
How do you set the lights to the lowest brightness to save power ?

Hi Nicky, The switch is located on the underside of the solar panel. Each push of the button will select a different brightness, the lower the brightness the longer the light will run for after dark.

Our IP rating is IP 65 IP55 and yes they are suitable to be left out all year round.

The solar panel can only be replaced with one that is compatible. You will not be able to add an additional controller to the lights.
Are these set to turn on & off automatically at night like our fairy lights or do we have to go and switch them on & off at the control?

The lights will automatically come on once it gets dark and switch off when it becomes light.

Hi Helen. Thank you for your question! The lights have three brightness settings, the first press is quite bright so yes I would certainly say they will be bright enough!

After the initial charge, you will only have to charge them again if the weather is overcast and the batteries are unable to charge through solar.
Hey there, so I bought three of these. I note that you can actually attach the individual sets to each other as they have a specific adapter at the end. If I had each set attached to each of the power panel and then attached together would that be ok?! KR, Lette

The lgihts can be turned on/off manually using the switch on the panel. Yes, the solar panel needs to be in the dark for the lights to come on.
Hi, I have 1 set of Edinburgh lights, unfortunately they are not long enough for our fence. Is it possible to connect a 2nd set and have the 2 solar panels powering the 2 connected sets?

Hi Please can you confirm the length of cable? The description states that from panel to first bulb is 4.95m and then the bulbs are spaced 50cm apart which would mean 5.5m in total. Adding these two measurements together the result is greater than the 8.95m in description. Many thanks

This unit works with one lithium battery. It cannot be replaced.

they come on automatically from dusk till dawn however you can manually turn it on/off

You will have to disconnect the solar panel and then you can take it indoors and charge it via the USB cable.

The bulbs are made of plastic. There is an on/off switch button. They do not have a timer.

There is an on/off switch button. I am afraid that the light bulbs cannot be replaced, but it is very rare for an led to stop illuminating.

These are charged by USB either plugged into a PC or into an actual mains plug with a USB port. They'll take a few hours then will be ready to go.

The solar panel has to be connected as it contains the battery to power the lights.
When charging these lights via the USB micro connection a red light is on under the micro charging port on the solar panel (can only be seen through the micro charging port), this changes to blue after a while. When the light changes to blue does this mean the unit is fully charged via the USB micro connection ?

yes when charging these lights via the USB port the light will be red while charging and when its fully charged it will change to blue.
I wanted a single set of solar festoon lights to hang high up along the length of my garden (c. 9-10m). Is there a way to connect two of these strings together? Or do they make a longer version? Thanks

unfortunately there is not a longer one and the only way to cover your garden would be buying 2 sets and starting them from each end and meet them in the middle as they wont connect together.

You get everything you need to get started in the kit, panel (with way to mount panel) and lights. The only thing that is not included is the USB cable. This is USB to USB micro and can easily be picked up from local shops.
How long does the solar panel last for? Can replacement panels be purchased separately like the lumify series?

Replacement panels cannot be purchased at this time, sorry about that. You should get a long useage out of the panel, especially with the USB back up and powersaving!
If charging via USB initially how long should you charge for (it says 3-5 days if using the solar charger)? Is there a way of checking whether the unit is fully charged?

USB should take around 4 hours (depending on your device) then it should be fully charged, we do not recommend leaving it in over night.

The Festoons can work for 12 nights from a single USB charge with little help from the sun. given a good panel location you should should get around 6 hours in the winter.

Hello. We do not supply spare bulbs and nor can the bulbs be changed. The panel can generate up to 5v and 3 watts. The battery is 3.7 v.
