I have just bought a set of solar lights but I am not sure, once I have charged them up, if I am meant to turn them on and off each day or whether I just leave them in the on position while they just recharge themselves the following day after they have run out each night.
Asked by Vicki on 19 Jul 2021
If the lights are left switched on, they will come on automatically once it gets dark. The batteries will charge while it is daylight.

All our lights are manufactured in China but to UK specifications. The Elans are rated IP54.

Can the fairy lights be used in winter as Christmas lights. Will there be enough sun during the winter months to charge them? Thank you
Asked by N Campling on 20 Nov 2020
Our lights are designed to work in the UK weather conditions so can be used as Christmas lights, the run time/ brightness may be affected however by the lack of direct sunlight.

Hi could these light be used in a den during the day if the solar panel was in sunlight? Is there an on off switch so they do t need to be on at night when we don't need them to be? Thanks
Asked by Mel on 4 Apr 2020
The lights will only work if the solar panel is in darkness. So if it is dark in your den but the panel is outside they will not come on. You can cover the panel to simulate darkness but you need to make sure this is uncovered when not in use during the day so it can charge.
Can the solar panel be attached to a fence? We don't have anywhere in our compact garden to position a stake (and the dogs will go pee on a stake, as they do with my plant pots)

These are for stake mountign only, however some customers have used found way of installing them to walls etc.
What colour temperature (Kelvin) are the 'warm white' LEDs? To be wildlife friendly I'd like them to be less than 3,500 Kelvin.

These are between 2,000 and 3,000 we have not had any reports of these disturbing wildlife, they are purely decorative.
Hi. Would these work in winter in london in a quite shady garden? Thanks
Asked by Adam on 28 Nov 2019
We would strongly recommend these to be in as much direct sunlight as possible so they can have the optimum charge/run time for you. The panel will need to be as south facing as possible. In a shaded garden you will find these will have a reduced run time as they do not have the back up USB charage or powersaving mode like the Lumify Range.
What time do these lights come on? I have some different ones and they don't come on til it's really dark which is annoying!
Asked by Danielle Steele on 30 Aug 2019
The lights come on when the panel is not receiving enough light to charge the batteries. Changing the angle of the panel towards the east will make lights come on earlier.

Asked by Tish Orfeur on 10 May 2019
Yes, you can wrap them around a tree. Please make sure the wire isn't tight if wrapping around tree branches as this could snap the wires if windy. It's a personal choice is like warm white or white lights.
