Does the battery need charging before installation? If so, how?
Asked by Liz on 21 Nov 2020
No the batteries come fully charged.
I know you have to charge it up for 3 to 5 days once it's all established and you switched on does it need to be switched off on a daily basis or can it stay on permanently and it goes off on its own thank you very much
Asked by Kenneth bennett on 27 Oct 2020
This should not need to be done daily, after a good base charge. The only time you may need to do it again is when the clocks go back in the winter where it won't hurt to give it that boost.

Can I get this with a movement sensor? I'm after an outdoor light in this style that just comes on for 5 minutes when I get back so I can see the door. I don't want a light that's on all the time. Your security lights are all a bit harsh looking. Thanks, Tom

is it possible to get one of these with a longer cable as the location is north facing and I will need a 5 m cable length to place the solar collector on a south facing wall. Thanks

Hi, will this lamp work within the vicinity of a street lamp, about 10 metres away?
Asked by fiona dewhurst on 24 Nov 2019
The Esher lantern will not work if there is any light getting onto the panel in the evening as it will assume it is daytime. I am unsure as to how far the street light reaches where you are palnning on having the light, so it will have to be a judgement for yourself. Perhaps buy one and test in the area.

Just wondering if motion sensor could be added to that model - it would save the power
Asked by Carla on 12 Oct 2019
A motion sensor cannot be added to the Esher. It would be classed as a modification of the unit and will invalidate the one year warranty.
