Hello, yes there is a film, you will need to remove the screws on the solar panel to take this off.

Can you supply this with a 5m long cable like other models? 2.6m would be far too short for what we want it for unfortunately.

No, the light is a motion-activated unit, which means it will only light up for 25 seconds each time motion is detected.

Are the solar panel & pir light securable separately?

Yes they are securable separately, there is a 2.6m of cable between solar panel and light. If you mean can you buy them seperately, I am afraid not.
