The EVO SMD Elite has a 120 degree detection range of up to 15m, however this can be reduced using the dial on the underside of the light, to educe the sensetivity. You can move the PIR up and down and left and right, so will capture most things.
It is a bit of a case of trial and error as to which setting will work for you as it depends on the height where it will detect.
The light uses LEDs which are not old fashioned bulbs and will last many years. You can not replace the LEDs
Hi
The light is a warm white, so not a stark white.
The LEDs can become warm if on for a prolonged period of time but not "hot"
From a full charge, it can be triggered 500 times.
This switches on in the dark but is only motion activated. Our wall lights staying on all night or until the battery needs recharging.
No, you could max out the activation to 3mins. The main reason the remote controlled is only 350 Lumens is to allow if being on for longer periods of time. 1,400 lumens the panel we have to be very large for it to work.
The sensor will detect movement up to 15m away.
The cable from the solar panel is 5m. There are 5m extension cables available too.
Our strongest floodlight without motion sensor is 350 lumens. You could look into building your own flood light with our Geo Kits. See our solar lighting kits
Yes, the panel can be roof mounted, the light and panel come with a bracket to angle the panel if needed. Please see our full install instructions here
Activation time can be set from between 15 seconds and 3 minutes.
The SMD comes with a bracket to angle the panel.
In the SMD range, the RC is the only version that offers a remote. The main reason it's 350 lumens is that it allows users it keep it on for longer periods of time. We do have a different style of security light at 1000 lumens with a remote which has 5 Modes. Eco Wedge Elite
The lights in all the SMD range are a natural white which is slightly warm.
Not on our SMD range. The Eco Wedge Elite has both motion sensor and a remote to switch on and off. See it here
The sensor will detect movement up to 15m away.
Sorry, we don't supply brackets for that. I'd try a local diy store.
The sensor can be adjusted. You would have to test at what point the dog triggers it.
With all the SMD range (SMD,Pro and Elite) the battery and panel size is optimum for the Lumen output. I'd suggest trying one out and if you are BBQing many days in a row to buy a second unit. The other option is to look at our GEO kits.
It comes with a Lithium Ion battery that won't need replacing for at least 2 - 3 years depending on usage. We currently don't sell replacement batteries.
The sensor can detect motion up to 15m away from the light unit.
Off a full charge 1 hour usage would not be a problem.
Weight: 2.50 kg
The Panel is 360mm x 256mm
Light head (front): width:114mm, height:157mm depth:160mm
You don't have us the brackets, you can attach the panel directly on the roof which works well is the pitch is around 30 degrees. The brackets are non adjustable.
Hi Alan, The SMD range are all warm white.
Yes, the solar panel is white.
The sensor can detect motion up to 15m away from the light unit.
The Evo SMD, Evo SMD Pro and Evo SMD Elite solar panels are all interchangeable so yes you could use an Elite (1400 lumens) Solar Panel with the Pro(700 lumens) version. Having said that we've had no reports of the panel supplied not being suitable for the job in all but the most demanding of commercial installations where the light may be activated more often at night. Having said all that we don't have any spares at present for the Elite so I can't offer you just the solar panel.
This isn't possible, what some customers have done is simply site the two panels side by side, the aluminium frame is thin so at a glance it looks similar to one panel anyway.
The cable from the solar panel is 5m. There are 5m extension cables available too.
The PIR is built in so the only option you have for extending the range is to adjust the sensitivity of the PIR via the dials on the underside of the light.
The solar panel is designed to be fixed to a wall, fence or roof. For best performance it should face south toward the mid day sun.
We've added an image with full dimensions. The light can be rotated up and down on its bracket, in addition the PIR can be rotated up and down and left and right. There's also a sensitivity dial so you can have it activating only when you need it.
There's 5m of cable out the box, with extension cables availble from mid November.
The sensor will detect movement up to 15m away.
We've added an image with the full dimensions above.
The activation time can be set from between 15 seconds and 3 minutes.
The Astron 64 was around 120 Lumens but the area that was illuminated was comparable to a 150w mains halogen that we used in our warehouse. When this product was launched less was understood about Lumens so we described the light in a way that would help the majority of customers understand its performance. The EVO SMD, SMD PRO and SMD Elite are all brighter than the old Astron 64.
This is a security light as opposed to a floodlight so will only activate when motion is detected and can not be left as constant on. The product does include everything to operate in the box so PIR, light, battery and panel.
These lights do have an on/off switch on the underside of the unit so can be turned off when light is not required. When in the on position the light will illuminate whenever they detect motion.
