I think that both the Firefly and Starburst lights have solar panels attached to the stake. Is it possible to move the solar panels away from the stake to avoid them being overshadowed by adjacent fences or bushes?

These should not break as they are quite hardy.
How long does the product last? Can the batteries be replaced? Can the product be recycled once it no longer functions?

Hello, Our products last 2 - 3 years, this product does have a replaceable battery, it takes AA in the panel.

Can the prongs be bent into a position? to spread each individual light out, so they are splayed?

Hello, Thank you for your question! You only have to turn them off for a base charge when you first recieve the lights for 3 - 5 days other than this you can leave the lights on they do not need to be turned off.
Are these lights protected from rusting with a coating?

Hi, The Firefly lights come with a plastic bulb and the prongs are encased in a reinforced plastic, which would prevent water ingress and therefore rusting.
Are they safe to leave out over winter?

Hi Gavin, Thank you for your question, we give all our batteries 2 to 3 years they can run much longer for the replaceable and non replaceable battery, With these lights the battery is not replaceable
