Could you confirm brightness in dim mode and once triggered does it switch to 120 lumens
Asked by David Jardine on 21 Jan 2024
in dim mode it is around half the brightness, then when triggered returns to full brightness for the duraction of the activation, then back down to half. We would not recommend the first mode for Winter.

I want to put this by my front door which gets very little sun. Is it possible to use it from the USB charge only? (The XL motion version)
Asked by Julie on 30 Nov 2023
it is not advisable to run this completely from USB. You can always give this a much needed boost but not fully run this from the USB cable.
Does this light stay on all night or does it turn its self off? Do you have to keep going back outside to turn it on in an evening? And to charge it do you have to take it down and plug it in with the usb inside?
Asked by Koby on 27 Nov 2023
Please see below there are two different lighting mode that you can use. Mode 1: After dusk, the light will remain on at a lower brightness until motion is detected to activate full brightness for 15 seconds after the motion has finished and it will return back to the lower brightness setting. Mode 2: The light will remain OFF until motion is detected to activate full brightness for 15 seconds after the motion has finished (best for winter) The light will need to be taken down once installed if you wish to USB charge it. I would recommend fully charging via USB initially until fully charge (should turn green) then in Summer you can have it on the Mode 1 and you should not need to top it up via USB, perhaps when the days get shorter give it another additional boost, then place the light on the Mode 2, again you should then not need to top it up.
Does the motion sensor version come with dawn to dusk function as well?
Asked by Marco on 23 Nov 2023
No, we do have the non motion version which is dusk till dawn.
I like the idea of being able to charge with USB but as it is screwed to the wall, does that mean you have to unscrew the whole thing every time it needs charging with the USB?
Asked by Lynne Harrison on 16 Nov 2023
The light will need to be taken down for every USB charge. However if you give this a boost iwth the USB you can always leave these on power saving in the winter, this will help it run for longer in winter and lessen the need for the USB charging. In summer, depending on location you should not need to top this up.
Is it easy to charge with usb? And how often is this necessary in winter? Are we talking weekly, monthly or just now and again?
Asked by Tina McElhennon on 29 Oct 2023
Hi, It's very easy, the USB charger is behind a cap with one screw sealing it shut. On the power-saving mode, you may not have to recharge the light at all, depending on location. If the light receives enough light exposure, you should not have to recharge often at all, it is a feature we've included "just in case".
Can you charge light up/replace batteries if it does not get enough solar light during winter.
Asked by Chris on 10 Oct 2023
Hi Chris, The grantham light is not USB chargeable, but the Grantham XL is.

Asked by Keith Honeycombe on 6 Oct 2023

How long does the light stay on on high following motion for the motion XL? Thanks.
Asked by Lucy on 18 Sep 2023
There are two modes Mode 1: After dusk, the light will remain on at a lower brightness until motion is detected to activate full brightness for 15seconds after the motion has finished and it will return back to the lower brightness setting. Mode 2:The light will remain OFF until motion is detected to activate full brightness for 15 seconds after the motion has fnished [best for winter] So in both cases the light will stay on brightly for 15 seconds after motion, but there is the option in having the light on constantly in a lower brightness mode.
How long would you expect the internal battery to last for - what's the shelf life of this product? Thanks.
Asked by Phil on 6 Sep 2023
The internal battery has the average lifespan of 2 to 3 years, however it is replaceable, and therefore the product can run for a very long time.
