Can these set to be always on, regardless of if it's daytime or nighttime? I'd like to use them in a shady spot where our children play in the day but I'm worried it might not be quite dark enough for the sensor to think it is nighttime.

Hi Jonny, These will light up autormatically at dusk and turn off automatically after 8 hours, however there is a switch in the charging tube that will allow you turn them off at any point before this. You could cover the panel to try and simulate night time, the lights would come on but they wouldn't charge up. If you choose to do this, then you would need to charge the lights through the USB. Hope this helps.
Hi what is the default setting? I am looking for steady fairy light that is not flashing and where we will need to put the solar panel it will be awkward to reach and change the setting, thanks

Hi Mel, These lights can be set to a steady mode and not a flashing one. The buttonwould be on a panel so If it is the steady mode you are after you wont have to change it as it wont reset

Lumify only comes in the 100's and 300s. We have our Elans which come in the 200's but they are not USB chargeable.
I want to locate my lights in a shady part of the garden. Can the light string be detached from the battery pack and solar panel and left in situ, while the solar panel is put in a sunnier spot for recharging the battery during the day and then be reconnected for use in the evening?

Yes, the light string can be detached so that the charging pack and panel remain. You might be best fully charging the lights by USB and then leave the lights in the powersaving mode. If any part is going to unplugged and left open to the elements please do make sure that they are covered so no water gets in.
Thank you, beautiful lights. However, whilst it states Disconnectable Solar Panel and Fairy Light String Lumify have been carefully designed to ensure that both the solar panel and fairy light string can be disconnected from the control tube quickly and easily - however could you please advise how exactly to do this, as I do not want to force/risk breaking, but despite arrows, they parts do not easily separate from the control tube. To detatch the panel or string from the tube you need to unscrew them from the outlets on the tube.
I have installed two new sets of 100 LED lights independently. Before putting them in place I charged both batteries via a UBS wall plug adapter, unplugging them when the light turned green. They came on at dusk but went off in less than 4 hours. I have them on standard mode as I want full brightness. Next day I left them to charge via the solar panels and the same thing happened. Lights turned off before 9pm ie lasted about the same time. Today I charged both batteries via the USB wall plug adapter until the lights turned green but sadly the same thing happened. They were advertised as switching off at dawn. I am really disappointed. Had it happened with one set I would have thought it faulty but for both sets to last for almost exactly the same short time I wonder if this is a batch fault. I have followed the printed instructions. Please advise as soon as possible. Thank you.

Lumify has 8 lighting modes including all sorts of flashing and alternating sequences as well as steady on where all lights stay on all the time with no flashing. Lumify can work for 6 nights in a row from a single 4 hour USB charge with only a little help from the sun - this can be extended to 12 days if you use Powersaving mode.
Can you use any specific usb lead. I have misplaced the one supplied with the 300 set

Of course you can, they will continue to run for you.
We have a street lamp a few metres from where we already have some battery fairy lights, and it doesn't spoil their effect. If we 'point' your solar panel away from this lamp should its light sensor be unaffected by the street lamp ?

Sadly it is a case of trial and error as we do not know the light spread. We just recommend that no outside gets onto the panel for them to work effectively.
Can you tell how the mode works to know how many times to press for different modes? May seem odd question.

Sounds like there is a light nearby that might be flashing on/off the panel and resetting the timer. Please do check that out as it will assume it is day time and then night again!

These are IP54 and are extremely waterproff due to the deal and the O ring used in the tube. Our lights have different IP ratings, so might be worth popping us an email to ask us the IP rating of the light you have in mind.

Hi, I have just purchased and installed these- one question/ which may be quite silly... but did I need to flip a on switch to activate the lights? As they've been installed for a few days now and despite there being some sun the last few days, the lights aren't turning on.. am I missing turning on some kind of switch?

Not a silly question at all! If you unscrew the top part of the cap off (how you would USB charge the item) you will see a slide switch with S/P, both of those would be on. If you are still having issues then please contact suzie@thesolarcentre.co.uk

The brightness is identical but the white version may be perceived as being brighter as it is more harsh than soft. This year warm white are by far a bigger seller but this changes on the time.

The String lights are 30 meters long so not more the ones to go all the way around. You may want two or even four depending on the effect you would like.

No need to rewire anything. Simply use the USB to power the lights. Many customers use the USB option inside during the winter months then put them outside for the summer.

You could cover the panel to simulate night time and the lights would come on but wouldn't charge up. You would have then charge via usb. Some customers do us the usb option all winter and switch to the panel in the spring/summer.
I'd like to buy these lights, but I need a much greater gap between the solar panel and the on-off switch. Could you advise which extension cable would be compatible with this set of lights?

We don't offer an extension cable for the Lumify fairy lights. The first light to the power pack is 2m and another 2m from the power pack to the panel.

It really depends on how much light gets to the solar panel. I personally have a north facing garden full of solar lights which all work well. I have had to move some out of the shadows of trees. The Lumify range all have USB backup so if the panel is in a poor location you can give them a boast via USB.

Hi. Wondering if it's possible to run two strings of lights from one base (i.e two strings of 100 leds each)? Trying to replace an old set of lights we use for camping and having two shorter lengths running in different directions was useful. Looking at the pics, the solar panel and the light socket look like they're the same. Many thanks.

This isn't possible, one socket is dedicated to the solar panel and the other is dedicated to a single string.

Hi, what determines how many hours of light-up time we will get from the lights each night? Product says dusk til dawn (which in winter could be 12 hours eg 5pm - 5am), however elsewhere I read it will be 8 hours? Does it depend on the strength of sunlight during the day, which could be significantly reduced in mid-December? I am concerned they may not be suitably effective at Christmas time. Regards Brendan

The Lumify range is guaranteed to work in winter. It will operate for less time than summer due to the lack of sunshine. It can, however, be charged using the USB as a back-up if required.

The primary way of charging is via the sun using the solar panel. Make sure when you install the unit that it is receiving direct sunlight on the solar panel. The USB charging is meant as a back up for winter when there is a lack of sunshine.

The Lumify are going to be replacing the Everbright Lights which will be discontinued this year. The Lumify will work better, last longer, have better waterproofing, and have a power saving setting.
is this really 30m long ? does that include the 2m from the solar panel to the first light ? i.e. is it actually 28m of lights ? I am looking for at least that long, 30m of actual lights would be ideal.

The total length is 32m. There is 2m which does not have LEDs on it which goes back to the solar panel. 30m has LEDs on it.
