Are the rechargeable batteries replaceable? I noticed in another brand (Onyx) that you sell, the batteries are replaceable, which makes sense as rechargeable batteries don't last forever and it would be wasteful and expensive to have to replace the whole unit rather than just the batteries once they die.

Can these be put into grass? I would like to place them in the grass alongside a path

Hi, We would not recommend installing these into grass.
The Solar Team, You are selling 2 colour options - white and natural white. Which ones would be classed as cool white or bright white as that's the ones I've purchased before. I do not want warm white. I will be purchasing more but need the correct colour advice before I place my order. Thanks

The street light can stop the solar light from working. They are designed to work when it is completely dark.

hi we have a printed concrete drive that runs along a lawn, will these still work if we sink them in the lawn at the edge of the concrete drive instead of drilling/digging out the concrete

Yes, they will. Just make sure that the lights are turned off for 3-5 days before they are used for the first time, that way they good a good base charge.

The panel is on top of the light, we would usually recommend that these are as south facing as possible and with as much access to direct light. I would be mindful of how mucb direct sunlight they are getting and to note that there might be a reduced run time in winter.

These will not be suitable for under steps as the solar panel is on top of the light, so the panel would be be too shaded and not receive enough sun.

These will have a slightly reduced run time in winter, but will still work. I would imagine 4-6 hours depending on how much direct sunlight they have received.
Can I put them in gravel path, possibly fixed to a flat piece of wood under the gravel

Yes, they can be fitted into gravel if you like.
Are these the same size as a normal brick and if so could you use them in a brick wall on the side of a drive ? Thanks

Yes they are the standard size of a brick. The solar panel is ontop of the product, so we do not recommend fitting them into a brick wall as the panel may not receive the best direct sunlight if not fitted as instructed.
I bought my Paver Lights in 2017, 7 of them are now not working, is it fair to say that l need to replace the Batteries.

Yes, after 2-3 years we would recommend changing them.
Three quick questions. 1) What type of batteries are housed within this brick light? Ie AAAs, AAs, Cs, Ds etc. 2) What mAh are they? Ie 1500, 2000, 2700, etc. 3) Also, could I Unscrew the 'brick' so that I can increase the battery capacities so they charge more and last long? I've done this with other solar products I've got from elsewhere. Thanks in advance.

They are AA 1.2v batteries. The mAh does not matter as much as any can be used, just as long as the voltage is the same. The screws to get to the batteries are on the underside of the light, so best just to allow the UV rays to charge the lights.

I can defiantely pass on this feedback, it would be quite difficult as the item is flat and only when you walk over it they will come on.
If i didn't fit these flush, would they give out lateral light from the sides? (like your smaller Lincoln Solar Decking Light)

No, the amount of light going sideways will be so small you make not even say it. The LED face upwards and not outward. The Lincoln sounds like the type of light you are looking for.

The solar panel for the Paverlights is on the top of the prouct, so I am unsure how you are intending on fitting these, whether you are looking to fit them sideways in the side of the wall or flat on the ground. Please note we only suggest these should be fitted into block paving as per the instructions, anything outside of this could invalidate the warranty.
how long do the batteries last and can these be replaced without the need to lift the brick?

Hi Charles, We usually suggest changing batteries around 2 years, however this is not alway necessary. They are AA rechargable batteries. The screw are underneath the light to stop rusting, so these will need be lifted to get to the screws.
Hello, I want to replace an existing mains brick light which is positioned in a brick wall in the front garden to illuminate a step. Will this replace a standard wall brick light and how will it perform in terms of charging when mounted on a vertical plane rather than in the floor? Thanks

We wouldn't recommend it but it could work if it was south facing with no obstructions and huge amounts of sunlight.
I am thinking of using these around the paved area of my patio, by sinking them into the surrounding grass / mud. Would these lights be suitable in such conditions, possible damp / wet most of the time, and will get watered by the garden hose ?

The light needs good drainage underneath and cannot be sitting in water. One solution may be adding gravel under each light allowing the water to drain.
If laid on the driveway are these lights robust enough to take being driven over by a family car?

You basically replace a brick, these are standard brick size. Top Section: 197mm x 97mm x 14mmmm Recess Section: 174mm x 41mm

Standard AA batteries are 1.2v so you can replace with any normal AA rechargeable battery.
Can the paver light be placed in a concrete imprint drive or are theses only suitable for block paving?

We wouldn't recommend a concrete imprint drive as there wouldn't be any drainage, block paving is best.

We haven't had any reports of these being stolen, some customers have chosen to concrete them in, however using sharp sand around the edges, as you would with a paving brick, has proved to work fine. At a glance they look like mains powered fitings anyway so are unlikely to tempt anyone.
What is the warranty? What are the batteries used for? If the lights need to be changed how easy is it to remove ?

The lights have a 12 month warranty. The batteries are used to store power collected by the solar panels to provide power to the lights at night time. The lights are easy to swap over if required.

You can access the battery from the top of the unit (pull white part out as battery is underneath) but must be careful during reassemble so rubber seal is in place.

These are the same size as a standard fascia brick. We do not recommend using them sideways in walls or posts and only in driveways.

These are not recommended for wall installation. The solar panel must face the sky and be installed in the floor.
If mounting these in a driveway, are they strong enough to stand being driven over or should I only use them around the edge?

These lights can be used in a driveway and be driven over.
I have a problem with my Paverlights i.e installed yesterday into a block driveway and them floating on the driveway am following day in a pool of water. There is a lot of space to fill with jointing sand and the pavers are very light do you have any suggestions.

A little bit of concrete or cement mix on the corners to fix it should stop this from happening. Another idea is to make sure there is ample drainage below so a puddle cannot form.
Just received these. Great service! It says to charge for 3-5 days before use. Do you then leave them outside in the light not turned on before placing them or is there a quicker way to charge them if there is a lack of sun!

The best way is to leave them outside in a sunny location but turned off. There isn't a quicker way to charge them. You may need the full 5 days if there is a lack of sunshine!

There are no anti-theft fittings. It is intended to be mounted flush with the floor so thieves cannot get their fingers under to lift it out.
Can one change the light bulbs into warm white or yellow ones? Super bright white light looks too harsh in the countryside. Do you sell the bulbs separately?

The batteries can be changed but should not require changing after just one year. They use standard AA rechargeable batteries and you should be able to get these from your local convenience store. If this does not resolve the problem please get back in touch with us at info@thesolarcentre.co.uk.

Yes, there's a waterproof magnet switch underneath to allow you to turn them off if you want to.

The Paverlights can be set in concrete however the majority of customers put these in with sharp sand surrounding the lights in keeping with the rest of the driveway. From a glance it's not obvious that the lights aren't mains powered so we've only ever had one case of theft.
