I have had these lights for nearly 2 years and one has stopped working. How do I order replacement batteries
Asked by Juliette Owen on 30 May 2026
Hello, the battery is replaceable and takes a rechargeable double A.
How many lumens does each unit give out?
Asked by William Gordon Campbell on 20 May 2021
We do not provide the Lumens on this light as it operates more like a path light. They are just markers.
Hi I'm replacing some mains ground lights as they keep failing, as such the recess is already there, the current lights are 10cms square and the recess approx 9 cms diameter would these be suitable? Many thanks
Asked by Gaynor on 9 May 2021
I am not quite sure if that will work out, but please find the dimensions below: Dimensions: 120mm x 120mm x 30mm deep Recess: 92 x 92 x 30mm
How would I attach these lights on my decking posts around our caravan which are a form of plastic please
Asked by Ray Deanr on 4 Apr 2021
You will have to make holes to fit these lights. They are designed for a decking area.
I have a paved terrace that I would like to place some solar lights on the help light up the edges at night but because the paving is laid already I can't bed these lights into the stone. Would these be stable if just placed on the paving? Or what would you suggest? I'm also considering the glow stones instead.
Asked by Sue Webb on 29 Mar 2021
I would not place them just on the edge, in case they get kicked over.
If we place them in decking I take it we can unscrew and remove easily by just lifting up to replace batteries? Thank you
Asked by Nina Foley on 25 Mar 2021
That is correct yes, unscrew the top part and you will be able to reach the internals. When replacing everything please make sure the seal is tight around the edge of the light to prevent water ingress.
Do these lights come in warm white?
Asked by Doreen Shovlin on 10 Mar 2021
I am afraid not.
I would like to put these in raised bed sleepers vertically with good sunlight. I can see you don't recommend it but its unclear they won't work or they may not get as good as light
Asked by Niki Stone on 18 Oct 2020
Exactly that, because the panelo is on top it will not get a good amount of light to run for you.
Can I get these as a set of 6 instead of a set of 4?
Asked by Paul Murphy on 31 May 2020
I am afraid not. But we also sell them individually so you can buy a set of 4 and 2 individual lights. Please click on the link: https://www.thesolarcentre.co.uk/products/Solar_Square_Decking_Light-386-101.html
Hi, is the solar panel set into each light, or are they linked to a separate panel by wires? Thanks
Asked by Karen on 5 May 2020
The panel is set into the top of the light. No wires.
I've been disappointed in the past with solar light's lots of them are to cheap. These are not cheap so I assume are better. Do they come with any warranty?
Asked by Dennis on 12 Apr 2020
Hopefully you will love our lights. All our lights come with a one year warranty.
Approx how many years before batteries need replacing?
Asked by Roger de Brett on 15 Nov 2019
The batteries should not need replacing for around 2-3 years.
Hi, would these lights be suitable for sitting in gravel. Not being walked over.
Asked by Jacqui on 21 May 2019
Yes, but you would need to make sure the light isn't sat in water if it rains.
Could these be set into the ground directly? Set sufficiently low enough so could be mowed over?
Asked by Rachel Garrison on 13 Sep 2018
These lights are designed to be in decking but if you had ample drainage it could work. The lights aren't very heavy so you'd need to screw them into something to stop the mower sucking them out of the ground.
Hi, are these suitable for horizontal (side) mounting rather than face up? Would you expect them to store sufficient light? Thanks
Asked by Will on 2 Aug 2018
We wouldn't recommend this installation as performance would be seriously degraded in winter months.
Hi, Are these light waterproof enough to be used around the edge of a swimming pool?
Asked by Dominic Gibbings on 30 Jan 2018
We wouldn't recommend putting the lights around the edge of a swimming due to how the chemicals in the pool water could react with the metals in the lights. If the lights are set well back this could work well. Our lights are designed for rainwater.
Hi , will these work during the winter months when the days shorten and there is little direct sunlight?
Asked by Tony on 9 Oct 2017
These will work all year round but for the best results you need to make sure the lights are not shaded and have direct sun light.
please anyone tell these light i can fix on the driveway?
Asked by Asad inayat on 27 Aug 2017
We do not recommend these lights for a driveway or for driving over. These lights: Paverlight Solar Brick Lights (Set of 2) have been designed for driveway use.
can these be installed in a patio paving stones, as opposed to wooden decking ? Thanks
Asked by damian on 11 Apr 2017
Shouldn't be any problem. Always best to insure the decking light has good drainage so the light isn't sat in water.
If these were installed on a vertical 90 degree railway sleeper that was positioned outside in full sun would they still work ?
Asked by daniel on 28 Apr 2015
They are not recommended to be installed in a wall (at 90 degrees). The solar panels are designed to be facing upwards for the sun and not towards the horizon even though your wall would be getting sun. Customers that have installed these in a wall have experienced issues before. I would recommend taking a look at the Kensington Solar Wall Light instead for this purpose.
Are the bulbs replaceable?
Asked by Karen Sutton on 3 Nov 2014
The LEDs are not replaceable but will last for a very long time.
Do they have an independent on/off switch?
Asked by Jill Draves on 10 Aug 2014
The on/off switch is inside the metal casing unit. If it is switched off it will still charge but won't shine.
How long do they last?
Asked by Dean Hodson on 6 Jul 2014
On a full charge these can run for up to 12 hours. They are built to last and you can replace the batteries.
how many square lights would be recommended for a decking area of 11 ft x 13 ft. thanks
Asked by gerard nolan on 13 Jun 2014
This is mostly based on personal preference. Usually our customers do 1 per every half a meter.
Are these lights suitable to use on a driveway / drive over? If not please can you reccommend sloar powered ones that are. Thanks
Asked by Penny Theophanous on 22 May 2014
We do not recommend these lights for a driveway or for driving over. These lights: Paverlight Solar Brick Lights (Set of 2) have been designed for driveway use.
Do I need to cut a square hole into the Decking? If so, how would you recommend doing that?
Asked by rhys on 15 May 2014
You would need to cut a square hole in the decking to fit this light. The sunken part of this light is 25 x 92 x 92mm. We do not give DIY advice but this can be done with a jigsaw.
Do the screws rust? MAnythanks
Asked by JJames on 4 May 2014
No. The screws should not rust.
are these lights screwed down onto the decking or simply dropped in place ?
Asked by martin o'donnell on 21 Apr 2014
They are both. They drop down into the decking and then are screwed into place.
How will the lamp be charged
Asked by kam on 22 Jan 2014
The solar panel is integrated into each solar powered decking light. A battery also within the light will store the solar energy during the day and then the light switches on during darkness to light up garden paths or decking.
Even when its installed where there is no direct sun ray. Will the day light alone charged it enough for the night operation?
Asked by kam on 22 Jan 2014
As with all solar products the performance of the decking lights will be reduced if not in direct sunlight however they will still charge in daylight.
