These batteries are not replaceable, they are wired into the unit.
Can the detection range be shortened or does it only operate on an 8 metre range?

They are a lithium ion battery and cannot be replaced.
Is the low light level at which the light detects motion adjustable? What range does the light have ie will it illuminate a door way 4 metres from the light? What is the size of battery?

The light level cannot be adjusted. The Softech detects motion within an 8 metre range with a 100 degree field of detection. It should light up that door, but it is worth testing in the area, due to the height etc.
Can the light be positioned inside a garage and the panel on the outside wall? Not clear how the mounts work.

Yes, the panel can stay fixed on the light or be remote. The wire connecting the panel to light is 1.6m long but you can purchase 5m extension cables here if needed. For full instructions on install please see this PDF
How far apart can the solar panel be positioned from the light? Is the internal battery replaceable?

The light comes with a 1.6m cable but you can buy 5m extension cable here . We wouldn't recommend using more than 2-3 extension cables as the resistance in the wire reduces the power going to the light however this can be outweighed by a great panel position.

Does The Soften Solar Security Light completely switch off. When there's no motion detection can you send me a spec sheet with dimensions

That is correct, the light will only come on when there is motion. Light: 11cm Wide 12 cm - Long 3cm depth Panel 12cm - Wide 14cm - Long 3cm Depth
Is the light IP66 and is it aluminium casing. If not what spec is it.

Does the solar panel swivel separately from the light to enable optimum solar energy collection?

The solar panel can be positioned remoted on the top of the light. If the panel is attached to the light you can change the vertical angle (up and down) but not horizontal (left and right) however the light can rotate horizontally.
Is there a low light on all the time at night, which gets brighter when motion is detected? Or is there no light on until motion is detected?
