It's just on the Lumify fairy lights at present.

Yes, the spikes are detachable however we wouldn't recommend using the lights inside.

Does the on/off switch connect the solar panel to the battery or the battery to the lighting circuit?

It connects the battery to the lighting circuit. With the switch set to on the lights will turn on automatically at dusk. If the switch is off the lights will not operate at any time.
Do all these types of solar garden lights need cables? , I'd assumed they were all independent and you simply pushed them in the earth?

The Solar Glow Posts are connected by a cable: They are daisy-chain with 1m of cable between each light (with 1.5m from the solar panel to the first light). The wire eventually goes back to the solar panel in a starburst or big "O" pattern.
What are the ground spikes made of in these solar lights, and how deep do they go? Thanks Laura
