Frequently asked questions

Hi I've had some of the solar square decking lights for just over two years, so out of warranty. Two of the 13 have failed and ive traced it to the led driver on the pcb. Do you supply the little pcb as a spare?

Asked by Colin Beynon on 23 Jul 2023

Hello Colin, unfortunately, we don't. So sorry for the inconvenience.

They have to be unscrewed to get to the on/off switch.

It says in the description there is a manual on/off button. I can't see it in the picture, how do you turn them off if you don't want all night illumination?

What size batteries do the square lights take ? Also, how often do you recommend changing or re-charging them. Thanks

Asked by Nicola Sorley on 8 Jun 2015

They are AA rechargeable batteries - available at any high street supermarket. They should not need changing for at least 1 to 2 years.

hi, I've just brought a set of your solar lights for decking and I was reading the instructions and it said to be fitted horizontal , what sort do I need for the steps of the decking where I might want to use them vertical .

Asked by Anthony Williams on 29 May 2015

We would recommend the Kensington Solar Wall Light. We have had customers install these lights vertical in a wall and most of the time it does not work.

Hello, I have two questions. Question 1 - I have 150mm wide deck boards. Will this be OK? Question 2 - my boards are laid and cannot be lifted. If I cut a hole I am trying to figure out how easy it is to attach these t Lights assuming that I cannot lift the decking? Thanks

Asked by Ross Johnston on 16 Apr 2015

The lights are installed from the top down so you should not need to lift the decking. The recessed part is 92 x 92 mm wide. I cannot recommend if this is okay for your decking.

00

1) I'm assuming they are fully waterproof? Would this include when decking is washed? 2) Obviously people will walk on the decking - will these take the weight of a person on the glass without breaking?

Asked by Miles on 24 Jan 2014

1) Yes, they are fine left outside all year round. I'd probably recommend popping them out their recess if you use a high pressure hose on you deck to be on the safe side. 2) Yes, people can walk over these without any problems.

Do these lights come with holes for fixing to the decking with screws?

Asked by Jojo on 24 Jan 2014

Yes, there are screwholes in the base part that can be used to fix it down to the deck if required.
