Instructions say i should use the pin to start the light working, but don't indicate where to use the pin. I didn't spot anywhere obvious. Can you provide guidance please?

Hello, Thank you for your question. You canot disable the motion sensor.
Does the light come on and stay on all night with a gentle glow then get brighter when the motion sensor is triggered or have a setting so only comes on when the motion sensor is triggered? Many thanks

The York is a motion-activated light that turns on when motion is detected and turns off after the motion ceases.
How directional is the motion sense on these lights? The description seems to suggest the sensor can be mounted in the light or externally. Any details on how both are achieved?

Hi Chris, The sensor is placed just above the ligth below the panel. It feeds off. Microwave sensors emit microwaves and detect the reflection of these waves off of a moving object. They can detect motion through solid objects, such as walls, and are commonly used in automatic door openers, security systems, and lighting control systems. The sensor cannot be removed and it can sense motion from 8 meters away. Hope this helps

Microwave sensors can be hidden inside the light body which removes the need for an unsightly sensor on the front of the light which can be vulnerable to water ingress. There is a small hole near the light if you look at the back of where the light is.
what is the colour temperature of the light? I've asked this question now on a number of fittings - it would be useful information to show on all your products as designers are trying to match the temperatures across a number of different lights and locations. Thanks

In the features it does mention that the colour is a warm white, I am afraid that as the lights will come from different factories we would be able to promise that they will match each other, as they are made differently. How do I turn the lamps on? Where is the on/off located?

There is a pin that you have to use to turn the light on. It will then come on automatically every evening.
Can the M/Wave Sensor be disabled so that the lamp switches on at dusk and off at dawn [Like the Henley lights] and if so I assume during summer months they will run for the stated 10 hours

Where is the PIR? If the posts are designed to sit alongside a path, does that mean motion will be detected some distance directly left & right of the lamp when approaching the lamp along the path?

The motion sensor is built inside the light and will pick up motion up to 8m away with a full 180 degrees.

The light is 200 lumen. The light includes the appropriate Li-ion batteries.
Is it possible to change the direction of the solar panel? if not, then which part of the light should ideally be facing south. What is the angle for the motion sensor and it it possible to have it on the back of the light? I'm actually wanting to put up 6 on the edge of my property so if someone walks towards, they go on. They would ideally have the sensor facing west and the light to the east - would that work?

The panel is intergrated so it is not possible to change it's direction. The solar panel needs to be facing south ideally, however as it is PIR as long as it is not heavily shaded area or north facing where it will not receive any light at all it should be fine.

This light is motion-activated only.
Can it be pushed into lawn using longer bolts

We wouldn't recommend it. In the summer the ground can be like concrete but come the winter and the rain the longer bolts might not be enough to keep them standing. I would also depend on what type of soil you have.
Can the York Bollard Light be screwed down to decking?

The instructions can be downloaded here . The light is designed to be bolted down and not screwed down. A single decking board is unlikely to support the light. Adding additional support could work.
Where is the solar panel on this bollard light? Is it on the top or does it have a separate solar panel which can be placed away from the light?
