So far so good, it arrived when they said it would, it was as easy to install as they said it was and it does exactly what they said it would do. Can't really ask for more than that. A cracking light, good coverage and touch wood it would appear to be perfect for the job.

Good light but if being erected outside, I would go for the EYE as the EYE is more waterproof and the light effect very similar.

Just a couple of weeks is too early to make an honest assessment, but so far am pleased. In the past have been very disappointed with mains security lights. I have replaced four through failure, the halogen bulbs are expensive to buy and run, and there is nothing worse than to find that after a thunder storm a power cut the light has been on for hours burning up electricity. At least with a solar power light this can not happen. Clearly, the brightness of the EVO36 is not as intense as a halogen, which can be almost blinding, but I don't find the brightness that important. It is certainly good enough to find the way to the front door and from inside the house it is good enough to illuminate anyone encroaching into the front garden. The Evo36 is not cheap in comparison to a mains unit, but if it lasts a few years then I will certainly be sticking with solar. To try and improve the water-proofing aspect, I smear grease over areas where there are sealed joints.
