I realise that the lantern is for effect rather than strong lighting but could you give an idea of the light output please.

It is the equivalent of a 3w bulb that has been diffused. It is not strong and will look like a flickering candle at night.
Please can you confirm that the lantern is finished in a dark forest green in colour with a matching spike.

Up to six hours. The amount of time the light will stay on for depends on time of year and how much direct sunlight it will be getting on the solar panel per day.

Yes. You don't have to use the spike supplied. The lantern is separate from the spike.

The lantern will turn on automatically as dusk approaches. You will only need to turn it on once during installation.
