I would like two exterior lights to illuminate 2 steps during the evening and night time. I quite like the astron solar bulkhead light but am open to offers and I would need a PIR fitting. Is this possible? What suggestions do you have ?
Asked by Nic Gaskin on 22 Aug 2017
You're not able to add a PIR to this light. All our PIR lights are available in the solar security lights category.
Hi can you let me know the lumens produced by this light Cheers

is an extension cable available to the solar panel,as the light will be out the front and the panel would be at the back of the house.
Asked by ian on 28 Apr 2017
5m cables are available here
Does the use its own connectors to the panel and the light. If so, can the cable be easily shortened?
Asked by Pete Jones on 3 Apr 2017
Customers have successfully cut a section out of the 5m cable from the solar panel and reattached the connector on the end. Please note doing this may affect your warranty and the joints need to be fully waterproof.
Can a pir be installed with this unit, do you have a unit similar with a pir
Asked by Mark on 20 Mar 2017

I am confused about unplugging the solar panel if it is in daylight. Does this mean that I would have to do this every day?
Asked by andrew on 1 Dec 2016
You only need to unplug the solar panel if you want the light to operate during the day. If not, just switch it on and let it operate night after night automatically.
Is it switchable? So for inside our shed, we could turn it off when not required.
Asked by Michael Omer on 25 Nov 2016
Yes, however the switch is inside the light so it's not designed to be easily accessible. The light normally operates best by leaving it in the on position so it operates automatically after dusk.
I bought the bulk head light, installed it and let it charge for 5 days and nothing, then discovered the plastic between the battery and the point in the light, so removed the plastic and put it on s mode, but still nothing after 5 days, should the light be in the off mode for its first full charge or in s mode?
Asked by Caroline foreman on 12 Sep 2016
It will have charge in it by now, the best thing to do to check this is to wait for after dark, and ensure the panel is in darkness, turn the light off and back on again. It will then operate automatically every night.
Dear Sir or Madam, What are the dimensions of this bulkhead light? Thank you for letting me know. Kind regards, Philippe

You can use the Evo SMD Solar Panel Extension Cable which will give you another 5m.
How many hours will the light run in the night
Asked by Jerry on 22 May 2016
Up to 12 hours during summer (or all night). During winter this would be more like up to 4 hours depending on solar panel location.

Is it possible to fit a timer to this unit so that I can get it to turn on and off at set times?
Asked by Juliette Bevis on 4 Mar 2016
It is not possible to change the unit and doing so would invalidate the warranty period which is 12 months from date of purchase.
We want a light to go in a small 1.5x1.5 mtre lean to outdoor field tea making shed.. Would it light up enough to put a kettle on a portable gas stove and make sandwiches/ soup at night?
Asked by Pat rowan on 28 Feb 2016
This could work but it is more a diffused light and we would recommend a more direct light. Please take a look at our Geo Mains-Free Lighting Kit for an alternative.
Can I add a 2nd light to the solar panel or does each light require a separate panel?
Asked by Karen Scott on 21 Feb 2016
Each light requires it's own solar panel. You cannot run two from one solar panel or vice versa. Very sorry.
Good afternoon, Is this bulkhead very bright? I am looking for the brightest light to put into a stable for the farrier to work on the horses feet when it is dark outside. We are lucky enough to be completely south facing. Thanks
Asked by John Dimmock on 22 Jan 2016
This does give out a fair amount of light but not enough to work by. I would recommend a Vortex instead for this job.
When using as a dusk till dawn light, is it the solar panel that determines when the light comes on rather than the light itself?

Is this in white? What is the power of this lamp please, as I want to light up an outside decking area...
Asked by Chris on 24 Jul 2015
This is white. It is not the right light for a decking area. It would highlight the edging of the building but not the faces of guests in the decking area.
