I have a twin spotlight with the solar panel which has integral rechargeable battery. How do I charge the battery from a wall socket? How can I remove the battery to do so?

Asked by BOB Andrews on 6 Dec 2023

I do not recommend charging this in a wall charger please as the battery cannot be removed. Please allow this to just charge for 3-5 days in as much direct sunlight as possible. Then please place this on the powersaving mode.

Good morning do each of the twin spotlight have a battery in them as one off the spot lights stop working just wondered do l need to replace a battery if so where are they situated. Thank you

Asked by Brenda Wilson on 6 Sep 2023

The battery for the unit is situated in the panel, not in the individual heads.

Can you confirm how far the 2 lights can be apart from each other? I have an 8 Meter long fence & would like to put 1 light 1 end & another the other. It states the splitter to light is 4.5 mtr so doers each light attach direct to the splitter? So U could have the splitter & the solar panel in the middle of the 8 mtr?

Asked by Dawn on 23 Aug 2023

Hi, Yes. Both of the lights come with a 4.5m cable, which would make it a total of 9m if you were to place them on opposing ends of the fence.

Good Evening Do the atlas pack of 2 lights require the battery to be changed or are they self contained for the life of the unit regards Martyn

Asked by Martyn Robinson on 16 Feb 2023

Good afternoon, The batteries in them last 2-3 years minimum.

can you get difference colours? i want to make my house light up. in a green colour

Asked by Michael McGrath on 28 Oct 2022

Hi Michael. These lights do not come in more colours, they emit a warm white colour. We do have the Chiron , which is a spotlight with a green option.

Hi. I am considering a 'self contained' uplighting application where both the panel and lights would be fixed to the lower branches of a tree. To present a neat and tidy finish I would be looking to shorten the two supplied cables using a pair of third party in line waterproof splices. Would you envisage any issues with this approach and, if not, could you confirm the cable specification ? Many thanks, David.

Asked by David Smith on 13 Nov 2021

We do not advise modifying the kit, this will invalidate the warranty.

Would they be suitable for the cemetery to shine the light on the headstone

Asked by Lynn on 28 Oct 2021

It will be suitable.

I want to be able to light the outside of a 50ft houseboat moored in the river. It's off grid and only accessible by boat so I need something that will help me find my way back in the dark and dock the boat alongside. Would these lights get me home or could you recommend something more suitable. I obviously dont want it to be lit up like a fair ground but something to help me locate and dock on the longer nights is a clear need

Asked by Jaki Beech on 15 Sep 2021

These lights would be suitable. You can also look at the Albany spotlight which is even more bright.

Can these be joined electrically to form a line of 4 or 6 to light up the front of a house garden (i.e. by buying 2 or three sets)? Many thanks Katrina

Asked by Jim & Katrina Smith on 29 Aug 2021

I am afraid not. However, they come as a set of 4. Please click on this link: https://www.thesolarcentre.co.uk/products/Atlas_Solar_Spotlights_Set_Of_4-876-83.html

Asked by John Edward on 20 Jul 2021

The wire from the splitter to each spotlight is: 4.5m (450cm) However, we also sell an extension cable if that is required: https://www.thesolarcentre.co.uk/products/Atlas_5M_Extension_Cable-894-5.html

Love both the quality and look of this light purchased a set of 2, and very happy with how they look but need a single to finish the look. Is a single spot of similar size and intensity available.

Asked by P Evans on 6 Jun 2021

Asked by Eric Martin on 13 Apr 2021

The sensor is in the panel.

I can put panel outside but I want the lights in the roof area f a garden Room. Can you please tell me where the light sensor is.... I am going you are going to say on the solar panel! Have loads of your lights!

Asked by Eric Martin on 10 Apr 2021

The light sensor is in the panel, so if the room is dark, but it is light outside (where the panel should be) the lights will not come on until dusk.

We frequently have foxes in the garden. Would you recommend that we bury the cables in the earth so they are not chewed? Thanks

Asked by Greg on 2 Feb 2021

We would not recommend burying them in the soil as when strimming or gardening you may go through them as it is possible to forget they were there. However if you wish to protect the wires maybe try to source some sort of plastic covering perhaps to place on top.

Hello I'm interested in the Atlas lights but I need 6 m between the lights. I see there is an extension lead for sale here, is that compatible with these lights? Thank you David

Would one of these be suitable for uplighting an olive tree? Or would another model be better? I am looking for a warm light not cool. Thank you

Asked by Sally on 11 Aug 2020

These would be nice for an olive tree and they are warm white.

Would you recommend these or the Selene spots to light up trees in garden

Asked by Matt Barrett on 3 Aug 2020

Either, output of the Selenes is 90 Lumens vs 100 so the Atlas is brighter, both have a remote panel so it's more about the style of the light. The Atlas is a much small modern looking light compared with a larger and more classical looking light head of the Selenes.

I am considering these for some pots on the balcony of my apartment. However, the area only gets sun from around 3pm in the afternoon, would this be sufficient to give good light and if not can the battery panel be charged whilst not connected to the lights to get a longer charge?

Asked by Suzanne Wilson on 24 Jun 2020

We would always recommend the panel being in as much direct sunlight as possible If the balcony is north facing then the panel will not be getting the light. You can always have them on the lowest powersaving setting.

Can I just confirm that the extension from the splitter to each light is 4.5 meters long

Would this be suitable in a tropical climate?

Have you lights that come on for a set time after dusk The lights in winter could be on from 4pm-8am will they be as efficient I.e. Battery life andlight output

Asked by Mr Georgeson on 21 Oct 2019

Most of our spotlights are dusk 'till dawn, so sadly do not have a timer function that can be adjusted. We usually say up to 5 hours in Winter and up to 10 hours in Summer. The only item with a timer is our Lumify range, this has a 7 hour timer and they are spotlights. Atlas come with a powersaving mode, so this should help them last longer over the Winter period.

Can you confirm if the battery is replaceable in the Solar Panel?

Asked by Richard B on 17 Oct 2019

The battry cannot not be replaced, but the Atlas is fitted with long life rechargable batteries, these should last up to 4 years.

These spotlights cannot be connected to a PIR and there is no remote control, just the switch on the panel to turn them on and off.

Asked by Daniel on 11 Jun 2019

Screw mounting your lights: Use the supplied Allen key to remove the bracket from your light. If the stakes are connected to the brackets, please remove those first. Offer the brackets up to your intended locations, mark the holes and use the supplied screws and screw plugs to fix the brackets into location. Once the brackets are in place, please reconnect the lights to their brackets.

Where is the power saving switch?

Asked by Martin Davidson on 12 Dec 2018

Slide switch into on position: The lights will come on after dark in full brightness mode. Slide switch into off position The lights will turn off. They will still charge, but they will not turn on unless you switch them back on. Slide switch back into on position: The lights will come on after dark in Powersaving mode where reduced by 50%, but the lights will work for twice as long each night. Slide switch into off position The lights will turn off. They will still charge, but they will not turn on unless you switch them back on.

How are these connected up, would it be possible to only use one light and get twice the run time? I only need one for the purpose I would be ordering.

Asked by Mark Aslett on 26 Oct 2018

Both need to be connected for it to work. Each light head is pretty small so grouping them next to each other could work really well for you.

What is the powersaving mode? Is the on/off switch on the panel or the lights?

Asked by Janet Jones on 24 Oct 2018

The powersaving mode halves the brightness which doubles the runtime. Perfect for winter months or poor panel location in the summer.
