Will these lights charge up if the solar panels are situated indoors and are exposed almost exclusively to artificial lighting (from indoor lighting) or is sunlight essential to provide charge power via the solar panels?

The panel cannot charge via artificial lighting. The unit has to be exposed to direct daylight. It is for outdoor use only.
wanting to illuminate a couple of waterfalls in a landscape garden. how near/far should I place the spots. Which model of light would you recommend and how long will the rechargeable batteries last before replacement

Any of the spotlights will be ideal and fit for purpose. How far you will place the lights etc, that is down to your own preference. In regards to the batteries with some units you can replace them and some others not.
What is the IP rating of these lights?

These lights do not come with remote control. The switch button is on the solar panel.

The bulbs cannot be replaced however they have an expected lifespan of 50,000 hrs.

Three AA rechargeable batteries, 2000mAh are the best but lower mAh would work too.

Hi, I have a set of these spot lights that I have had for a couple of years, they are fantastic, but I have an issue. They were working great, then one night I noticed the lights were very dim. I wanted to see about possibly replacing the batteries as they have been in use summer and winter for all that time but I just cannot get all the screws undone to get them out. Is it possible to buy a replacement solar panel with batteries in?

The Selene is only available in a cool white. The panel can be replaced but not the lamps.

Due to the remote solar panel you can move the solar panel to get the most direct light.
Is the light sensor that tuns them on on the light or solar pannel as the light itself will be in the dark.

Can i add in a motion sensor in circuit with these lights? My front door needs outside light but not easy to install through thick stone walls..If so what do you recommend...

Yes you can. The batteries in this product are located in the panel section so will charge when the lights are disconnected.

The only way to keep your neighbours happy in this case would be to go out and turn the lights off manually at the panel.
Do you know where I can get green dichroic glass filters for these spotlights? The light size seems to be 60mm, but all the filters seem to be 50mm.

We plan to launch a range of spotlight colour filters in the future however these won't be made from glass I'm afraid and I don't know where else to source them from.
I have installed the the 2 set and they work brilliantly. However, I have a garden feature between to two ares lighte dwhich I would also like to light. Do you supply a single spot light with a remote solar panel or an addition to the twin set?

Hi, Can you tell me if the solar panel will charge in sunlight even when the cable lead is not conected to the spotlights? The area I wish to position my spotlights is shaded and was therefore wondering if it was possible to disconnect the solar panel and place in sunlight without having to move the lights as well. You can mount this on a wall and solar panel on the roof. However, you cannot angle the lights far enough back to shine on to the wall they are installed on like say above a sign.

I would like to use these spotlight to lit up some trees. Are these suitable or am I better of using the Albany spotlights? Or should I use the 3 together but then it becomes very costly as we have more trees that we would like to lit once we've worked out how good they are. Many thanks

Both the Selene and the Albany would be suitable for this application. The Albany is a stronger spotlight but has shorter cable (3.3m to the solar panel) while the Selene has two spotlights and longer cable (5m to the solar panel).

Each LED bulb is 1.5 watts per head which is 3 watts total and 88 lumen output. As per the website they will shine up to 25m.
Where is the on-off switch located, please, and is it suitable for regular use? We only want the light on when we really need it but it would be best if it wasn't too fiddly! Any suggestion for alternatives suitable for external use?

The on/off switch is underneath the solar panel. It is suitable for regular use. The light will still charge while the unit is turned off.
I would be interested in coloured ones, if you do them in the future. My question is though - what is the on/off switch meant for?

We hope to have coloured options in the future. The on/off switch is an override switch to prevent the lights from turning on when you don't want them to (I.e. holiday and the lights don't need to work)
Good morning I like these lights but I am after a pair of coloured solar powered garden spotlights but i can only find white ones. Do you offer coloured variations or do you have other coloured solar powered garden spotlights please?

We do not have any coloured solar garden spotlights at current.
When fitted to side of our conservatory we require one light to show in direction of our garden gate, the second light in the opposite direction towards our garden path, if fitted in correct position are the light heads a solid fixture? or can they be adjusted in the right position for convenience

Yes. There is a manual over-ride off button. The lights will still charge but won't automatically turn on.
I bought some outside solar spotlights from The Fine Lighting Company a year ago. They are now completely corroded and not working. I do not want to make the same mistake again. Do you have a guarantee on your spot lights and are they very weather resistant - I am about 3 miles from the south coast of England. Best wishes, Jill

Our lights come with a 12 month warranty in case anything goes wrong. We also try and provide the IP rating (how water-proof and dust-proof) the unit is so you can make an informed decision. We have had customers along the coast use these lights and many of our other lights and only a few have suffered from the salty-sea air.

There is no way to extend the cable at current without modifying the unit which would invalidate the warranty period.
Please can you advise if in this model you can manually switch on before dusk automatically triggers them on? Many thanks.

This light cannot be manually turned on. If you switch it on the lux sensor will still over-ride the lights and keep it turned off if it is daylight.
I am looking to install one solar light on either side of a gate entering our property. This unit (Selene Solar Landscape Spotlights - set of 2) strikes me as a possible candidate, but as my entry is shaded by trees much of the day and I cannot run cables across the drive, I'd like to buy two of these and run only one light on each. This will work as long as they aren't wired with the lights in series. Are the lights in parallel so I can run just one light ? Thanks, Mike

The lights do not plug in separately. The connector is "Y" shaped with the bottom of the Y going to the solar panel and the top parts going each to a light.
Can you tell me how many lumens your lights produce on full charge and what the beam angles are?

Each light head Lumen is about 40, total is 80. The light head angle is 15~20 degrees because of the reflector shape. The farther distance beam the more area covered.

The only colour for the Selene Solar Landscape Spotlight is white. We are currently investigating manufacturing a spotlight that can utilize different colour slides.
Wires have become detached in control unit at back of solar panel. Can you supply a wiring diagram so I can re-solder, or is it possible to obtain replacement panel?

No, there's not an out the box solution to this, you could wire in another panel manually but this would involve cutting cable and shouldn't be necessary. The Landscapes come with a very powerful 1.6w panel so it should provide more then enough power year round to keep operating well if the panel is in a good location.

They don't I'm afraid although we have had customers tell us they've put coloured cellophane or similar over the lens to great effect.
Are they suitable for lighting a passage, wall mounted with windows overlooking: ie not too bright as to show though curtains.

These are quite tightly focussed lights so should be fine depending on where you choose to focus them. Please note you have up to 14 days to decide to return them if you decide they're too bright.
Is it possible to run these lights in manual on/off mode? If so, when switched off does the battery still continue to charge? If this light set is not suitable for this operation mode please suggest an alternative.

The Selene Landscape lights will charge in the on and off positions and the panel can be detached from the lights and left somewhere to charge as well as the batteries are in the panel section.
