I'd like to hang these from a tree. Would they get enough light to charge, or do they need to be in direct sunlight for a number of hours to charge?
Asked by Maz on 24 Jul 2024
If you wanted to place this in a tree I would be careful on which branches you hang them from as it might bend and break them, as any breakages due to this will not be covered under warranty. As you are able to USB charge them if needed and put them in powersaving mode, it wouldn't matter too much about the amount of sun as you can top up with USB, however if you were puirely relying on the sun then I would not place it somewhere heavily shaded.

I've have four of these lanterns, I like them very much. The battery has gone on one of them, it has a flat top battery 3.7v 2000mAh. Is it alright to replace with a 3000mAh as I can't find one at 2000mAh
Asked by Mike Saunders on 5 Dec 2022
3000mAh will not be a problem, it will last about a 1/3 longer via a USB charge but is unlikely to be fully charged by the solar panel alone.

Almost all glass has some sort of UV protection and filters out light which in turn reduces the amount of charge you get from a solar panel. However, the Lamp comes with USB backup so you could add additional charge as and when needed or pop the light outside in the day and bring it in at night.
