The batteries are wired into the light so this cannot be changed, however they are fitted with long life batteries so these will last up to 3-4 years.
Can these be free standing on a base or do they have to be spiked into the ground

These are micro USB. You can take the head with you to check the size. You can usually get these from any electrical sellers.

These lights need to be charged for 4 hours via the USB cable to start with. Once it has been fully charged and it is completely dark you have to press and hold for 5 seconds on the rubber switch button which is located on the light head and your lights will illuminate.
Do you sell a replacement pole and stake that the head fits onto?

Hi, I've bought this item (TrueFlame USB Solar Torch Light With Flickering Flame) and received it today 10/09/20. I'm charging with the usb cable and it's not showing up on the computer. How do I know if it's charging? I also tried it with a USB wall plug adapter. Does a light suppose to come on to let me know it's charging? Please let me know as soon as possible. Kind regards.

As it is just a charging cable nothing will come up on your computer, it will just charge the light. No light to show it's charging, if you just leave it in the computer it will taking a charge.

It will take approximately 4 hours. It does not have a light indicator that can glow when the unit has been fully charged.

These will need to be switched on. Please push and hold the button directly in (not left or right) for 3-5 seconds and they will lightup in the evening.

Not necessarily If you plug in the light and give it a good charge it does not matter if it is on/off (if you are not able to tell) but if you can tell then do leave it off then that way it isn't working and charging and will hold the charge it has gained.

To USB charge the torch locate the USB charging port which is just below the power button. Carefully pull back the rubber cover and insert the Micro USB end of the supplied USB cable. Plug the USB end of the cable into a USB wall plug adapter or a USB port on your computer

Yes, both. It allows you to top up the charge in winter months or if you have them in a poor location.
Under normal conditions, my garden doesn't get sun and there is light but not shade. Will the Solar Torch Light work under these conditions?

Without direct sunlight, the light will work but will not last as long. The power saving mode will help. Some customers actually move the lights during the day into a better location then move back once charged.
Is it better to turn the lights off when going to bed rather than leave them on till the early hours to save the charge?

If it has been very cloudy for a prolonged period of time then switch them off when you go to bed is a great solution. Switching them off for 3-5days is likely to fully charge them too. Our Trueflames also have a power saving mode, switch the light on and press the button again, this will dim the light slightly and increase the run time.

The light comes with a 12 month warranty and we would expect the battery to last over 3 years if not longer.
Hi we have purchased this lights with the intention of putting them round the decking, but I put extra decking round the perimeter to stop the muddy feet, which is a bit of an ask for the plastic spike. Do you stock a flat plate with screw holes and a stub to fit the bottom of pole onto. If so how much are they. Thanks for your help in is matter, (hopefully) Steve.

We don't sell anything like that but it might be worth trying your local DIY store for a bracket that might hold the spike.
