Hi - I'd like to install this light on the side wall of the recess to the front door on my North-East facing house (i.e. it gets no direct sun, particularly within the recess)... There is quite a lot of reflected light from the houses opposite, particularly in summer but will it be able to charge properly all year round? Thanks.
Asked by Lucy Breaks on 14 Nov 2023
Hi Lucy, we would always recommend to have your lights in a south facing position as during summer in may not be difficult for the light to get a charge in any other place as the sun is pretty high up. During winter however they may not get any sun light. We do offer light with extendable panels for exactly this purpose so you can still place your light in a north facing position but direct your panle in the south side

Asked by Mary O'Neill on 6 Oct 2023

I'm looking for a motion activated chordless light for my front door. I was about to buy this one but I'm worried that it will be too bright - can you change the bulb? Secondly, can you change the range it catches motion? I live on a busy road and only want it to detect people who have come into my path. Thanks
Asked by Victoris on 2 Oct 2023
Hi Victoris, The bulb is a built in LED cannot be changed. the range cannot be adjusted this would vary on the location of the light and how well it gather a charge.

What's the maximum area for the motion sensor to activate

Hi, The motion sensor has a 110 degree detection field and detects motion up to 6m.
How does it fix on the wall can it be stuck on ?
Asked by Maria Taylor on 24 Sep 2023
We would not recommend sticking them onto the wall. The Truro comes with fixtures and fitting so these can be securely drilled onto the wall.
How many screws to fix to the wall and if more than one, what is the spacing. I want to use existing holes if I can. Thanks.
Asked by Jennifer on 21 Sep 2023
It comes with two screws.
Is there an adjustment for motion detectors If not what is the detection zone
Asked by Tony on 15 Sep 2023

does it have to be sunny to charge this light? i want to place it in the side passage of the house
Asked by Diane Farmer on 15 Feb 2023
Hi Diane, thank you for your message. You can place your light in a side passage but if there is shading of another buidling or trees the sun light wont reach the light that way it will limit its charge and then limit its potenitail.

They will only come on when motion is detected. We have the same model but it comes on from dusk till dawn. Press Here to view the wall light without motion.

Would this light charge ok if it is 4 inches below a slight ledge
Asked by Tanya Howatt on 20 Dec 2022
If it's going to be in a shaded area the light won't receive any charge to work Im afraid.
Will this work on a north facing wall? Ie fairly gloomy spot, will it be likely to get enough solar gain?
Asked by Megan on 8 Nov 2022
We wouldn't recommend it but you would have to test it. We would recommend any of our wall lights with a remote panel as you can have the light north-facing and the panel south-facing.
