Geo 4 kit Verified Purchase
Very nice bit of kit and pretty easy and quick to install. The only minor issues relate to the minimal instructions which seem to contradict each other in places. Best to review the you tube video before setting up and reading the manual carefully before starting. I used the biggest battery available which is very heavy. Overall a good product and hope the battery will keep going for years to come

Description

Unlike large solar panel systems that can take many years to pay for themselves, our Geo Mains Free Solar Lighting delivers instant savings. Installing a mains lighting supply to remote locations isn't always possible and is often highly expensive when it is.

Our Geo kits can be installed by anyone with basic DIY skills and are exempt from Part P of the building regulations which means there is no need to pay an electrician to have your kit installed and certified.

Geo 4 Applications

The Geo 4 will light an area of 60 square metres making it ideal for small halls, large sheds, stables, garages, outhouses. As well as providing you with lighting, you can use the charge stored in the battery for powering a variety of small electronic devices simply by adding an inverter.

Frequently Asked Questions

Question:
Could I use this system, with an inverter, to charge the batteries for my cordless power tools?
By John Starkie on Dec 12, 2018
Answer:

We wouldn't recommend it as these kit are designed for lighting however, it would work but could limit the life of the battery if you drain it too much and too often.  If you only needed to charge once every 4-7days in summer months it may work.

Question:
Hello. I looking to put a solar light system in to my dog kennels (block of four) and was wandering if their is a suitable heat bulb that runs with this system
By Ian jane on Sep 29, 2017
Answer:

These kits are designed for lights but you could run a heat lamp too. You really need to look into the power usage of a heat lamp as it likely to be to high for this if used regularly.

Question:
Hi, I do not think that 10m of cable supplied with the Geo4 kit will be sufficient for me to connect from the location of the battery to all light sockets. Is it possible to use up to 10m more cable and if so, will this have a detrimental affect to the amount of light produced?
By Phil Hopkinson on Oct 2, 2016
Answer:

Hi Phil,

10meters is the standard we supply, but feel free to contact us here: https://www.thesolarcentre.co.uk/pages/contact_us.html and we'd be able to add more for a small cost. The length of the wire does reduce performance so it's best to keep the length as short as you can however the difference between 10m and 15m likely to be very limited.
