We have purchased a variety of products over the past few years and all have performed very well. We purchased the long string of vintage lights initially and were so pleased we recently purchased the 10 light string to fill a gap in our garden.. They look really great and we have linked them to our garden power supply via a usb connector so we use them all year long without the need for battery back up which suits our needs, sure the solar panel and battery back up would work very well if preferred. We have several other solar panel type products that work very well even during the winter months.

1 | 0 Purchased for garden room at bottom of garden. Gives lovely warm glow and look good. Can hang up in a variety of ways. I need to install a small hook to hang the battery pack out of the way. Bulbs are light enough to hang without weight strain on timber rafters. They arrived sooner than expected with no fuss purchase through website. I'll probably buy another set to boost light levels and to add decoration.

1 | 0 Quality lights admittedly not cheap but I bought a set 18 months ago and have them in the orangery they have worked through out the winter (admittedly only for a few hours in the depth of winter) But in the summer they come on when the sun sets and will stay on until dawn I highly recommend Solar centres products as I have bought other products from them and are still working with no problems You can buy cheaper solar products but as I have realised they don't last very long and cost more in the end as you have to replace them continually

4 | 0 I recently bought my second set of these lights. They are AMAZING! They switch on at dusk and stay on for a good 10- 12 hours....even after a dull winter's day! They emit a nice warm, welcoming light and as mentioned, on the saver setting a whole night of lighting is the normal. Best solar lights ever!

2 | 0 This is my second set purchased, last year a 20 lamp string and now this 10 lamp one. They look really great and have lots of features, I prefer the static display. I have installed weatherproof sockets in my garden with USB outlets and installed the control tube in an adjacent IP66 adaptable box. I can now switch them 24/7 from my house and not worry about constantly cloudy days.

The cable length to the power pod is generous enough to run out of sight. Delighted with my purchase!

I didn't expect too much with them being solar and I have had many many lights from other places that have been terrible and don't last. These are fabulous. Took a few days to get a full charge but they almost come on every day without fail ( and when they don't it has been a couple of very dull days) The phrase "you get what you paid for" couldn't be more true, don't waste your money on the cheap solar lights, you'll just have to keep replacing the. These lights from Solar Centre are great quality lights. We love them!

I hope they will be able to withstand the Welsh rain better as they are a different design and I can place the battery compartment under some guttering and hopefully keep it drier. Time will tell.

2 | 0 I was dubious about ordering expensive solar lights as they are usually disappointing. But these are brilliant, bright and seem like good quality to last. Charged off the USB before putting them out, this is a great feature and maybe later in the year If you wanted to top them up in low light very handy. Really pleased and will likely buy more in future.

They were long enough to reach round a fair bit of our little yard patio, and they give an atmospheric glow which we're really pleased with. Had bought a cheaper set earlier in summer and they weren't great, very dim especially with the dull weather, and are now for the bin. These are more expensive but just plain better on all fronts. Worth the extra.

Also the light lasts a while, you an set them to last even longer if you put them dimmer, the battery is replaceable if performance drops and is chargeable with mains. My only gripe was that the bulbs are plastic and not glass, which felt a little cheap at first. However in hindsight this choice of material makes sense for both cost and durability. They're also not as heavy which makes hanging them a lot easier. Looking at them at night /i can't tell the difference anyway.

However, they are too big for my very small flat patio and am going to swop them with a smaller type attached to my gazebo at the bottom of the garden. I wouldn't describe them as "vintage" as they give off quite a modern glow.

0 | 0 Bought these to sit under an overhang on my garden shed. They are just lovely. I charged them with the USB when they arrived and since then, they have not been recharged. I do need to move the solar charger, as I stupidly put it where the ambient light from a streetlight hits it, so it only comes on at 1am, when they turn the lights off! But in the winter, it's not a bad thing to keep the charge topped up!!

However 6 months in they developed a problem of coming on during the day or not coming on at all. Contacted the solar centre who were excellent at understanding the problem and sent out a replacement part which fixed the issue. They are back to working perfectly again, so for this I'm still giving them 5 stars. Well done and thank you SolarCentre for excellent customer service.

They don't give off a huge amount of light for illuminating the garden but they twinkle beautifully and I get lots of compliments about them. I've had them up for about 18-24 months and have had no problems so far! Well worth paying that bit extra for superb quality!

I would not have looked at these because of the price but a friend gave me a set that they had bought that were surplus to requirements and I liked the quality immediately and specifically the fact that they have replaceable and rechargeable 18650 lithium ion batteries. once i had tried the first set for a few weeks the price became irrelevant as I realised that they are exactly what I had been looking for. they do tick all the boxes. We have only just put them up so hope they'll be ok over the winter. Definately worth the money. This is the 2nd time we have used this company and i highly rate them. Didn't pay for fast delivery ( bit miffed spent over £100 ) still had to pay for delivery but they were here within a couple of days so can't moan. Highly recommend.

3 | 0 Excellent product. I've tried solar lights before without much success but based on the reviews we decided to give these a try. Since the good weather has now turned into more of a typical English summer, I was surprised they worked so well. For the last couple of days, there has been little if any clear spells, but the lights have still been on at 5am after coming on around 10pm. As you would expect they were easy to fit, we used cable clips to secure against a wall with the panel mounted on a fence. The price was ok - you get what you pay for - there is not much point in saving a few pounds for inferior quality especially on something that should last a few years.

3 | 0 When we moved into new house, there were some old festoon lights which looked lovely for the first night, and never worked again (they were very old and the bulbs were filled with water, it was probably a miracle that we even saw them for the one night...) So finally replaced with these. These are fairly expensive - I later found much cheaper alternatives in a bargain store, and did consider sending these back... but the quality is much better than the previous dead ones the old tenant had. There's a lot of attention to detail on water ingress, a good long cable to the control tube and solar panel, various mounting options, and a handy USB charger option. It feels well thought out and put together. The bulbs have taken the obvious route to preventing waterlogging: a tiny hole at the bottom of the bulb! Nice attention to detail. The lights look great - but they're obviously not "vintage" (the bulbs are plastic not glass, and the brass wire is lit up by multiple LEDs: which is meant to give a vintage effect, but that's arguable.) Shipping was fast, but package was a little bashed, and some of the plastic bulbs are a little dented. But this isn't a big deal for us (as the bulb is part of the "vintage" effect, it doesn't affect the functioning).

I have had many different solar lights over the years, at varying prices, many did not last long. These lights may not be in every ones price bracket, but they are worth every penny, and are in my view great value for money., best on the market.

There are many versions available at a cheaper price but this really is a case of "you get what you pay for." The order was dispatched quickly and arrived the next day and when I had a query about the solar panel I was given great help and advice by a member of the team.

1 | 0 Having had poor to average solar lights in the past I decided to research before buying some as a gift. Having found these I decided to buy some for myself too. Very quick delivery. Soon charged up with the USB and ready to hang. They are threaded around a bower and through some trees in the garden and look amazing when they light up in the evening. Took a few tries to get them exactly as we want them but it was worth it and then we've just loosely secured them with cable ties in case of wind. The solar panel is on the small stake in the ground and the battery pack hangs in the tree too. Looking forward to them lighting up in the winter months. Would definitely recommend.

Wound them round the patio in our back garden with the solar panels sat in the top of our bushes facing south west. Look lovely when they come on and have glowed quite brightly every night this week. It has been a very sunny week though. Very pleased so far.

Then I found lumify which were recommended by a neighbour. This is a real quality product with a simple detachable one point USB charge if required. I charged the vintage bulbs with USB initally despite the good weather at present and they work as described. I'm used to having white/ice white lights so getting used to the dimmer glow of these. 1 | 0 We'd bought a set of something similar, but much cheaper, from a leading discount store and although they were okay at first, they always seemed a little flimsy. This was proved to be correct after a few months use. Hunting around, we came across these Lumify lights and after reading the reviews we decided to order a set. They arrived quickly and are clearly much better quality. The light given off is enough for a lovely ambient glow in our garden 'nook' and they last for hours every night. I love how they can be topped up too, for cloudier days.

They work really well, bright enough without being over powering. They have a nice relaxed glow. Well made, long enough for the space I wanted. However I liked them so much, I have just purchased another set to extend them around my garden further. I would definitely recommend these, as the cheaper alternative solar lights just aren't worth the hassle. Pay a little bit more for a better quality set in my opinion.

4 | 0 Firstly the service I received from the solar centre was excellent thank you, the lights seem well made and stay on a lot longer than my other solar lights, if I have a critism they could do with being a bit brighter they light up the area they are fixed too but not much else don't let that put you off as they are great for a bit of surrounding light but you wont be reading under them, I will be buying another set to complete a ring of lights under my gazebo which should do the trick.

We are very happy with these lights and promised that we would buy more in the next sale. We seen the Vintage lights and ordered them x2. These are being used on our pergola above our hottub and make our garden into a heavenly place to chilax. As others have mentioned, these are not super-bright, don't expect to properly illuminate an area with them. I am impressed with the quality, ease of installation and the amount of charge generated from fairly low sunlight levels. Am hoping these will stand the test of time.

I particularly like the warm light they produce and despite the shades being plastic and quite light they actually look very convincing. I would have liked slightly more cable between the solar panel and the battery but that's just because of the particular positioning I've got. Only 10 lights with wide spacing between them, so you might consider buying a couple of strings if you want to drape them between trees. They always sell reliable, well-made products, which makes a change from some of the stuff floating around claiming to be "solar". These particular lights incorporate all the right things, a solid panel and wiring, weatherproof switching, but don't expect them to give off any usable light. I bought them hoping to illuminate a pathway across a lawn. I already light half of it with a string of good quality fairy lights, they give an adequate glow to show the path. Unfortunately these don't. It seems I was expecting rather too much as they use very small leds, but I can't fault them for what they are, I should have asked a few questions before purchasing. As a decorative feature, they are very pretty and quirky, so I'll probably end up putting them somewhere they will look nice as it would be a bit cheeky to ask for my money back..:)..

They give a lovely vintage dim glow that looks fab in the garden at night. Thanks to the wonderful USB charger they outlast all my other solar lights by hours, even on a totally sunless day. Not sure how long the USB charge will last but I am currently on night 4 on normal light (you can have a dimmer light that will last even longer) Not much more to say except they are well worth the money and I will now be purchasing the fairy light option. I think the USB charging is the total saviour here. Love them!
