WE ARE DESPATCHING ORDERS AS NORMAL! ALL DELIVERIES ARE CONTACTLESS!

Thursday the 9th of July 2020 12:00pm

Things are now pretty much back to normal after an extremely hectic three months. Our email response time is back down to a few days, the phone lines are open again and we are accepting and processing returns as normal. We would like to thank all our customers for bearing with us through what has been an incredibly testing time for all of us here at SolarCentre. If you have been waiting a while to hear back from us and think you may have slipped through the net, please email us with the word urgent in the subject line and someone will be back to you very shortly.

Our long awaited Order Status Checker page is now live! Simply enter your Order ID or email address and delivery postcode and our system will tell you the current status of your order. Please note that if your order is in Backorder the delivery estimate is the only information we have at this time so we would kindly ask customers to check back nearer to that date rather than email in as we wont have access to any additional information. As soon as we get an update the Order Status Checker will be updated immediately.

We are currently receiving an unprecedented volume of customer enquiries. It is with regret that we have had to close our phone line until further notice. We apologise in advance to customers that prefer to call, but we are able to handle enquires much more efficiently when they are received via email. Please email [email protected]. If your enquiry is urgent, please put the word urgent in your message, but please only do that if your enquiry is urgent as we have many customers waiting patiently in line.

Owing to high order volumes and courier issues, we have had to change our guaranteed Next Working Day Delivery service to ASAP Delivery. The majority of ASAP deliveries will still arrive next working day, but we can no longer guarantee they will and some orders may take an additional day or two to arrive. Once again, we thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.

Wednesday the 15th of April 2020 11:45am

Our phone lines are extremely busy so please only call if your enquiry is urgent, otherwise please email [email protected] which is always the most efficient way to get hold of us. Normally we have 4 phone lines available in the office which means we can cope with surges in call volumes, but this is not possible while we work from home because we only have one phone line available.

We have been fortunate enough to have had an extremely busy Bank Holiday weekend. As you probably know by now, we’re only allowing one person in the building at any one time so it essential that the warehouse is operational 7 days a week. To that end, myself, David and Brian have been in to despatch orders throughout the Easter weekend. The vast majority of orders will be delivered on time, but there maybe a few that slip the net and arrive a day late. If you paid for postage and your order arrives late, please contact us and we will refund your postage charge right away.

Unfortunately we are unable to book or receive returns or send replacements until we can go back to work properly. Our 30 day unwanted return window and our one year guarantee period will be extended accordingly so no customers are left disadvantaged. We can honestly say that every single customer that has enquired about a return has completely understood our predicament and we have not received a single complaint from anyone which just shows the calibre of SolarCentre customers. Again, thank you all for your patience and understanding, we really appreciate it! We will make sure your return is dealt with as swiftly as possible as soon as we can all get back into work.

Firstly we want to thank you all for your continued custom and support. We have been fortunate enough to see a spike in orders over the weekend owing to the lovely weather. This has put quite a bit of pressure on warehouse which is currently being staffed by one person. We have had to bring our Next Working Day Delivery cut-off time forward from 4pm to midday so please keep an eye on the clock when ordering. Although the majority of Next Working Day Delivery orders are despatched on time, some orders will not be packed in time for our courier collection. We will of course refund your Next Working Day Delivery charge if your parcel does not arrive the following day. Once again, we thank you in advance for your patience and understanding during this difficult time.

Monday the 30th of March 2020 09:00am

All orders are getting packed and despatched on time and our couriers are collecting as normal so we are able to offer a full next working day delivery service for mainland UK orders.

Friday the 27th of March 2020 08:30am

SolarCentre are doing everything we can to stop the spread of the Coronavirus while still being able to despatch your orders on time. All of our staff are now working from home except for our warehouse manager who is the only staff member allowed in the building. The vast majority of orders are getting despatched and delivered on time, but please bare with us if you experience a slight delay receiving your order.

Thursday the 19th of March 2020 6pm

It feels like ages ago that we were all starting to get excited about spring arriving as the mornings and evenings were getting that little bit lighter and solar lights up and down the country were starting to twinkle for that little bit longer. Unfortunately we now all find ourselves confronting a challenge unlike any we have faced in peacetime. SolarCentre is still up and running. All of our staff are now working from home, but our amazing Warehouse Manager, Michael, is still going in to make sure your orders get packed and despatched on time.

At times like these I think we all have to reassess what really matters and be thankful for the things we have, The SolarCentre team have friends and family that run small businesses in the hospitality sector who are already finding themselves in great difficulty. Their journeys make us realise more than ever just how important our customers are. We want to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support, not just for now, but for everyone who has shopped with us over the last 12 years and particularly our loyal army of repeat customers.

Sometimes it feels a little odd selling solar lights while people up and down the country are struggling to find the food and medication they need, but it does look like we will all be spending a lot more time in our homes and gardens over the coming months. If we can play a small part in making your garden a happier place to spend that time in we will be thankful for that.

Look after yourselves!

David, Luke, Brian and the SolarCentre team
