iPS Technology

Intelligent Power Saving Technology (patent pending) is a revolutionary concept in solar technology. It measures the amount of light received by the solar panel over a 24hr period. Should it fall below a preset threshold the lights will operate at night with a slightly reduced voltage, prolonging the runtime of the lights over the winter period.

Description

The York incorporates a state-of-the-art microwave motion sensor which detects up to 8m away and will illuminate for 20 seconds each time motion is detected. Microwave sensors can be hidden inside the light body which removes the need for an unsightly sensor on the front of the light which can be vulnerable to water ingress. The York Solar Bollard Light is rated at 200 lumens and offers IP54 water ingress protection.

Question:
Does the light come on and stay on all night with a gentle glow then get brighter when the motion sensor is triggered or have a setting so only comes on when the motion sensor is triggered? Many thanks
By Colin Hayward on May 6, 2023
Answer:

The York is a motion-activated light that turns on when motion is detected and turns off after the motion ceases.

Question:
How directional is the motion sense on these lights? The description seems to suggest the sensor can be mounted in the light or externally. Any details on how both are achieved?
By Chris Simons on Jan 31, 2023
Answer:

Hi Chris, The sensor is placed just above the ligth below the panel. It feeds off. Microwave sensors emit microwaves and detect the reflection of these waves off of a moving object. They can detect motion through solid objects, such as walls, and are commonly used in automatic door openers, security systems, and lighting control systems. The sensor cannot be removed and it can sense motion from 8 meters away. Hope this helps
